HOW DOES IT WORK?
Schools that choose to participate in GO FOR ART will be reimbursed up to 85% of the cost of a class trip. Schools will be asked to contribute the remaining 15% – an estimated cost of $1 or less per child.

WHY DO WE NEED IT?
A typical 1½-2 hour field trip to the Picker Art Gallery costs between $100-200: school buses average only 2-3 miles/gallon, and bus drivers earn $15-$18/hour. Given the many demands on school budgets, museum visits are in danger of becoming a thing of the past.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All area elementary, middle and high schools will be invited to apply for a GO FOR ART stipend. Reimbursements will be distributed equitably among all towns that apply.

HOW WILL MY CONTRIBUTION BE SPENT?
100% of the money donated to the GO FOR ART program will be distributed to area schools.  We have no upper limit; the more money we raise, the more students will be able to visit the Picker Art Gallery.

HOW CAN MY BUSINESS/ORGANIZATION JOIN?
To become a partner in GO FOR ART please your send your contribution in any amount to: GO FOR ART, Picker Art Gallery, Colgate University, 13 Oak Drive, Hamilton, NY 13346.  Checks should be payable to "Colgate University", with the memo "GO FOR ART".

The Picker Art Gallery will recognize your funding partnership on our website and in our biannual newsletter.  Supporters will also receive formal acknowledgement of their tax-deductible donations by mail.
