Trio X

Jazz critic Robert Iannapollo calls them the best improvising trio in music today. Numerous awards and placings in annual "best of" lists tell a similar story. CIMP recording artists Trio X bring together the legendary Joe McPhee on various reeds and horns, Dominic Duval on bass, and Jay Rosen on drums. All three have a reputation for making music new, but playing together they create a musical dynamic like none other. Their Spring tour of Europe was so successful that Trio X has been invited back twice in 2006, and even made the subject of a documentary by a Lithuanian film crew. But don't wait for the film: come out and see them live. The show is in the Picker Gallery of Colgate University, 4:30 p.m. on October 3rd - and it is free and open to the public. For further information call 315-228-7446.

The performance has been made possible through the generous support of WRCU, Colgate University's Division of the Humanities, and the Department of African-American Studies. The reception is provided by Catholic chaplain Mark Shiner. The event has been organized by WRCU with help from Professor of English Michael Coyle.
