The show is centered on a group of Dennis Oppenheim’s designs for Machine Pieces, his signature works from the late 1970s and early 1980s, which translate a range of thoughts and concepts into metaphorical mechanisms. Combining sometimes implausible plans with fantastic written descriptions, the exhibited prints and drawings provide a starting point for day-dreaming rather than a blue-print for construction. Dennis Oppenheim is an internationally recognized American conceptual artist who creates land art, performances, videos, installations, and public art.
