Variations

Sculpture Court, 3rd floor
Picker Art Gallery, Dana Arts Center
Variations, an exhibition of four sculptures by Drew Goerlitz, is installed on the Picker Art Gallery Sculpture Court, the rooftop exhibition space on the Dana Arts Center at Colgate University. The site-specific installation incorporates the sculptor’s signature style of manipulating paper within a steel structure, while responding to the spatial and architectural complexities of the Paul Rudolph-designed building.
The newly-renovated Picker Art Gallery Sculpture Court presents Variations as the first in a series of exhibitions featuring the work of contemporary sculptors. Modern and contemporary sculpture from the Picker’s permanent collection serve as a counterpoint to the special exhibition, highlighting recently restored works by Herbert Ferber, David Hayes and Joseph Mooney. Visitors will also enjoy a new loan from John von Bergen paired with an older piece by the artist from the Picker’s collection.
